Jordan Steele
Class of 2014 · B.S. Exercise Science · YSU Football QB

Jordan Steele's road to the NFL is the kind of story that defines what it means to be a Penguin. After leading YSU to back-to-back FCS playoff appearances, he went undrafted and spent the next decade bouncing between practice squads, arena football leagues, and a torn ACL. He never stopped throwing. In March 2026, at age 34, the Cleveland Browns signed him to a two-year contract. At his first press conference, he held up a YSU jersey. "Youngstown made me," he said. "The Mahoning Valley never quit on me, so I never quit on the Mahoning Valley."
